Shearwater Creek Wealth Advisors - Brand Identity Design

Building a brand messaging strategy from the ground up

Project Overview

Shearwater Creek Wealth Advisors, LLC (SCWA) is an independent wealth management and investment firm whose core business revolves around goals-based financial planning. The firm’s mission is to serve as their clients’ most valued advisor by helping them address the myriad of issues and responsibilities that come with managing wealth. Their unique philosophy and approach to financial planning – managing wealth versus managing investments – is the key differentiator and driving force that sets SCWA apart from the rest of the marketplace.

The VisionMix team was brought in to develop a comprehensive strategy to help communicate this differentiator and bring that messaging to the marketplace. The process began with a deep dive review of the firms targeted clients and how best to connect with them from a marketing communications perspective.

Based on these insights we developed a set of communication tools that included brand guidelines, a set of leave-behind materials that could be used with prospective clients and key influencers, and a series of document templates that could be used by the internal team. That goal was to ensure that all the firm’s communications shared a common visual and messaging approach that helped to build brand equity and credibility.

What We Did

  • Performed an audit of existing communications tools and platforms – defining how the firm was currently going to market.

  • Worked with the SCWA team to evaluate and define their target client profiles – developing messaging / positioning that would speak to their needs and pain points.

  • Defined a brand strategy and brand guidelines that would be applied to all outgoing communications.

  • Developed a series of reusable communication templates that would facilitate the internal team’s efforts.

  • Worked with the team to deploy updated brand assets across their existing platforms.

  • Designed and developed a printed tri-fold brochure leave behind supported by a series of need-focused case studies, allowing the team to develop custom client kits based on their preliminary understanding of a specific client’s situation.
